Do You Need an Adventure in Your life? Get away from the monotony of the same old with a short trip!
Updated: Jan 4, 2021
What are you doing for adventure during this pandemic? It is very difficult to find something new while we are in this crazy pandemic but I have an idea for you. Take a short trip within driving distance and stay with immediate family in an Airbnb!
My daughter, my dog Blue and I just went on a 3 night getaway to Joshua Tree and stayed in an Airbnb. It was an incredible experience and really inexpensive for all the fun and laughs it brought us. We ended up in a very off the grid place with about an acre of fenced in area of desert. We had a place to sit where we could have coffee and watch the early morning sun and a fire pit to sit for the evening sunset and stargazing. My dog Blue was able to run around all over the property and play with rabbits and birds and had the time of her life!

The place was very simple and had no TV so it was interesting not having the option for the habit of channel surfing. The feeling after a short time was of serenity and peace and reading books was so wonderful! We played Monopoly one night and cards the next with all the trash talk you can imagine. So fun!
The food we brought in our coolers and cooked kept us out of the mix of people and healthy cuisine was within our control. We had fruit, pumpkin bread, and a bit of ice cream for our deserts and it was great not to have to think about going out in this Covid crazy pandemic.
We got our exercise hiking around the Joshua Tree National Park and it was my first time seeing it so it was special! Short and sweet getaways are a fantastic idea for this period of time we are all locked down. No airport or crowd to deal with as you can find something within driving distance and just book it and go!
